8:45 am D.C. time:
Over night, David's temperature had risen to 101.7, his blood pressure dropped lower than they wanted (60 for the bottom number). Doctors and nurses battled to bring his temperature down and raise his blood pressure, without raising his heart rate.
Christa and Laura arrived first to David's room and his eyes were open. He had just been taken off his pain medication so that the doctors could test his responses. When the doctors tested David today there were no responses to commands to blink his eyes, thumbs up, squeeze and release his hands, or to move his feet. Plus, the dr. rubbed his feet with a pen starting at the heel and moving up to his toes, David's toes curled backwards instead of forwards. Everyone is pretty disappointed after what seemed like such an exciting day yesterday. Not a great day to start wearing mascara again! Today, we need your prayers to lift us up as we are not strong. We will continue to search the Lord for his answers to this trial in David's life. We know that God has protected and kept David for something special since the day he was born. Now, we give him back and say, Thy Will be done. All that we have; all that we are, all that we hope to be; we give to You. Thanks for your prayers, Patty

I am sorry that morning has not brought the progress we had hoped for but I just wanted to share something with you. When the babies were in the NICU the Dr.s always told us that there will be good days and bad sometimes more bad than good....They (the babies or David) will take 1 step forward and then maybe 2 steps back, but really we are only back one step,as long as we keep stepping forward we are getting closer to the door and closer to home. I know that David will continue to step forword because he walks with the Lord. We will continue to pray, specifically today for a break in his fever and response to the Dr.s commands. As you said God has had and does have a plan for David he is in the best care Gods! Love to you all and prayers of strength!
I am not sure what else to say other than we are praying and I love you guys!!! hang in there, God does good things!

So today is a bad day. We knew this would happen... With all the progress, there had to be a step back somewhere. But our job and purpose is to think positive and keep our hopes and spirits high. God is testing all of us. Just keep in mind--David has come soo far. Love to you and your family. Sending more prayers for David's recovery.
For every step forward there might be 2 backwards, nontheless its going forward. U know this is going to be an uphill battle and if any family can do this and if anyone can win this its the Huddleston Family. My prayers are with u and David, u guys are in our thoughts constantly. Its 1:41 in the morning here in Germany and I was just checking the blog before going to bed. God bless
Hang in there! We are praying for you. I remember when I went to pray for a friend's premature baby at Riverside Community that the doctor was very negative. That made me angry and caused me to press into prayer more. We are doing the same for you -- pressing into prayer, believing a God who does miracles and who is the Great Physician. That little baby girl is now a healthy kindergartner thanks to God working a healing when the doctors' shook their heads.
I am sure it is so hard and painful to watch David and to go through the ups and downs, so we are also praying faithfully for all of you. Love from Wendy and Rik and the boys.
With any TBI there will be waxing and waning. Sometimes it will seem hopeless for days. It's not!!! This is all a natural part of the healing process. The positive Babinski sign (the backward curling of the toes) can be caused by something as small as a low sodium level and can return to normal. Try not to lose hope. You are all in my prayers.
