11:00AM D.C. time

Here is a quick update. Christa and Laura arrived at 5 AM to see David (while Patty and I tried to honor the Sabbath and sleep in!) to find him more alert than yesterday. He gave them a huge thumbs up on command. The nurse was there and they all started clapping.

By the time Patty and I dragged in at 7:30 AM he was still awake and seemed to want to sit up. As he was holding my hand he would flex and literally pull himself towards me and off the bed slightly. We had the nurse raise his bed into a half sitting, almost standing position. I don't know if that was what he wanted but after a bit he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep. It was a good morning.

Patty and I took Christa to the airport at 9:15 AM while our pregnant and tired Laura got a good nap. Patty is up with David right now and as soon as I sign off here I will meet her.

Again, thanks for all of you faithful prayers. They do make a difference.

Steve

I got the students at Beeson Divinity School in Alabama praying for David too. It is good to know he is having a good day. Your faithfulness in this has been a great encouragement to me.

I heard the news today about what had been going on.
I am so glad to hear that David is making progress! I miss all of you so very much.
This was not how I expected to be reconnected with your family, but I want you all to know that you are all in my prayers. Your family has such a strong faith and I love you all very much.
I'll continue to read your blogs to stay updated. I know that God has plans for David, he is a great guy.

I love you all,

Hi Huddlestons,
Glad to hear the good report for today. After I read yesterdays report I felt sad, but hopeful and did some more praying for you all. I sure don't understand all that goes on in the human body, it's amazing, and the wonderful medical miracles available today. My thoughts and prayers for you go up regularly and it's great to get regular updates. This blog thing is a great way to keep everyone informed.

Hi,

We pray for you everytime that you come to mind, which is often during the day. We pray for David and for God to continue to heal him. We are praising Him with you for the good news of the day, and David's alertness.

We also pray for you, as being in the hospital day after day must be exhausting and emotionally draining.

Thank you for the continuous updates. We, and many others we know, are praying daily.

Dear Patty and Steve..and David, too! I have tried to figure out how to use this system and guess the easiest wasy is to be annommyous? Every day when I do my Bible study, God gives me so many encouraging words words for David, like "I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future..."Jeremiah 29:11-14.I have never doubted that you will be better than ever when this is over, just like your grandpa Bob! And I guess you were practicing on his wheelchair for a reason! Just remember I am a really qualified caregiver now so let me know when you need me! Your updates are such a blessing and testimony to all who read them!Love you all, Mom and Gma Haldin
